i thought posting the foreword to jun'ichiro tanizaki's in praise of shadows would be a nice conclusion to my 2011 as it touches upon a lot of of challenges and realizations ive come across in the past year. it has been an incredible year--so more than i could have wished for. 

here is to growing and sharing in 2012.
